Morrow has skills to govern

Mankato Free Press

I am writing to voice support for Terry Morrow for the Minnesota State House of Representatives. I feel that experience and service in the community set Morrow apart in this race. I strongly urge the voters to look at Morrow’s history of service and volunteerism in our community as we near the election in November.

Morrow is a demonstrated leader and representative of our community. As a member of the school board, Morrow has been a wonderful advocate for our schools and for our children. Like running a large company, school board members must be familiar with state and federal laws, they must grapple with the rising costs of health care and be innovative in balancing the budget every year. School boards must understand the changes in our student population, advances in teaching, children’s health concerns, and other issues. St. Peter’s school board has an excellent reputation in the state for its careful and visionary management of our schools.
Morrow, as a school board member and now its chair, has worked diligently with the other school board members for years. We know his dedication to honoring the public trust would continue in the state legislature.
Morrow has demonstrated his skills in communication, cooperation and compromise as he has served on numerous boards, committees and commissions in and around our community.

He would not be learning to govern on the job. He has already gained the skills needed to govern and to represent all the members of our community in St. Paul.
